Reality TV overload, Turbofire, protein and edamame

Hey Lovelies! Do you realize we have just as much reality TV shows as real shows? (i.e. comedy, drama, news??) Reality TV has taken over and I have fell prey to it.  I mean it's Thursday and the first thing I thought was, "It's Jerzday!" (Jersey Shore, Mtv 10:00) See?? Godawful! I think what hooks me is that people actually act the way that they do, and on camera.  ESPECIALLY the whole Real housewives franchise. Majority of these ladies are mid-thirties and up and they act a complete fool! And I can't get enough. It's like it appalls and shock and awe's me at the same time...And there you have it; hence the sink.  Ha! So I filled out thirty plus applications on USAjobs.gov. Seriously.  I am a veteran I supposed to have veterans preference; so I guess i'll have to sit back and see.  Beings that I keep going back and forth with possibly trying to enlist back in; I figured I might as well try civil service as well.....Anyways on to a more pleasant topic....Turbofire!!!

I did a hiit 20 which is a high intensity interval workout; basically meaning that it's high impact with one minute breaks in between for 20 minutes  and I wore my weighted gloves....Go girl!!  And a nice 10 minute stretch. F.Y.I -  before doing any type of workout if your not a protein shake or protein bar type of girl eat hard boiled eggs.  It's protein which gives your body a burst of energy and gives it something to burn as you work out.
Later, the weather was really balmy so me and Pooper went on a walk through the park which was really nice. It's awesome to see the 2 year olds mind at work and become fascinated by something as small as a twig blowing in the breeze.  We came back and happily ate a whole bag of roasted edamame

and then we were off to get Captain Rhyan and my two older kids from school.  Okay guys it's time for Jersey Shore. Yea oh yea! Hey at least I can admit it!! Have a great night....
Sincerely,
Miss Nik

Work it out!! Super bowl, Awesome bookie!!

Sooooo hello Lovelies!! I couldn't even fathom bloggin yesterday! It was dreary, rainy, and ughhh ... What is it with rainy Monday's?? To me it's like Superman meets kryptonite.....Dramatic I know but similar effects I tell you!! Well I am full swing back into my health kick. Today I started off with Turbofire!! HIIT 30 and upper 20 and lower 20 class.  It felt awesome to push myself I even added my hand weights to make my workout that more effective. You go girl!!

I am a beachbody coach so please feel free to check out my site at www.beachbodycoach.com/FITMISSNIK to check out  Turbofire and other workouts and products that are available through beachbody.  I followed my workout by having boiled eggs and a nice fruit smoothie. Ingredients I used were simple:
Lite Ruby Red
Strawberries
bannanas
blueberries
Chobani greek Yogart
Flax seed
I didn't use any approximate measurements; I used all to my liking it's filling and it tastes really great.  Even Pooper likes it.  Okay, on to bigger news......GIANTS ARE GOING TO SUPERBOWL!!
The game was so dramatic to me! It was rainy, the players were amped and ready to fight, it was so electrically charged you as the fan could feel it I swear!  Then the overtime, I thought I was just going to die of anticipation!! And we did it! You would have thought they had won the superbowl it was so much screaming and yelling in my home Sunday nite! Ha! Awsome game and so proud of the boys in Blue! Last but not least, what can top that, right??  I have to mention the book I completed a week ago. Really great read ;
Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.
In a dark and dusty shop, a devil's supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.
And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.
Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she's prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands"; she speaks many languages--not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she's about to find out.
When one of the strangers--beautiful, haunted Akiva--fixes his fire-colored eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.  This book is categorized under Young adult fiction, and paranormal romance.  I have become a fan of young adult books.  Until recently I had really only read chick literature, mystery and historical romance.  Most paranormal romance seems to fall under young adult and I find these books to be really well written, and not to sexualized.  It's pretty refreshing to read YA.  I don't want to give a spoiler of the book, you just have to check it out. It's one of the best books I have read in awhile.  I read it in 3 days, couldn't put it down.  I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day! Me and the Pooper have to get ready to get the rest of the crew .
Sincerely,
Miss Nik

NFC championship, military , hello how are you??

Yes. Yes. I am a proclaimed fanatic guys.....New York Giants!! My boy's  in blue has made it to the NFC championship and I the loyal fan that I am cannot be anymore ecstatic! Blessed be the day!! Okay a bit dramatical but you get the picture.  I am looking forward to having hot wings, potato skins  and being surrounded by red, blue, and white balloons while watching the big game this Sunday at 6pm in case you didn't know.  Me and my crew of 4 will be be garbed in red, blue, and white/gray, I will be wearing red, blue, and smoked out gray eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick on my face that will be a template for the boys in Blue! A bit more of a fanatic you think?? Ha! I will be sharing pics of our celebration..... On to other  topics that would be just as dramatic to me and my crew.  I am prior military and I have decided to go back in.  I have toyed with the idea for a couple of years and I have finally decided that I am going to enlist.  I'm excited about my decision. I enjoyed serving in the military and the benefits are awesome.  Especially when you have a family.  So i'll be keeping you guys up to date on my progression with that endeavor. My dear mother was under the weather and me and Pooper have nursed her back to the path of wellness.  I had did a tabata's routine and yogaX this morning.  After I had a nice whey protein shake.  Then I went to my dear mother's home and my day that started off on a nice health kick was condensed by us having Ihop. But Miss Nik, they offer fit meals at Ihop now..... nope I went and engulfed 10,000 carbs by having cheesecake pancakes smothered in syrup, (Not lite!) hash browns, and eggs with cheese. Yep. Awesome.  So now i'm downing bottles of water and green tea out of guilt.....Horrid I tell you.

"Hello, how are you?" This was Pooper's statement all day to everyone that passed her and came into her vision.  And I mean EVERYONE.  But at least everyone was nice to my tyke and did stop and have a mini conversation.  That just egged her on even more! But it's awesome when the 2 year old realizes that everyone other than their gorgeous Mum can understand what they are saying.  Well Ladies, that's all for now me and my crew are having a nice hearty stew with brown rice and cornbread muffins.  Then on to homework and kid's choir rehearsal until next time.......
Sincerely,
Miss Nik

Rainy Mondays, job hunting, poops and Disney

It's 8:44 AM. My school kids have been deposited safely to their schools, and me and the pooper are having hott chocolate and mint marshmallows. While pooper is happily walking around with her poop diaper which she is refusing to let me change and eating her now soggy cheerios;  I'm singing away to Disney's Mickey Mouse clubhouse as I dutifully send off more resume's to whoever is hiring.  I have been home for two months now.  You know how you start off only sending resume's to the jobs that pay enough, in the field that you have the most experience in and the hours  you are looking for? Then it goes to filling out applications for whoever is hiring, open availibility and pay way below what you would want to be paid hourly or salary wise?? Horrible. I already dread Mondays; for it to rain as well incredibly traumatic to my psyche.  It's a New Year, and I have yet felt the drive to go "balls to the wall" with my workout routine. Like most of us Mom's over the holiday, I ate too many carbs, my "clean diet" went out the window, I baked too many gingerbread cookies and ate too much raw cookie dough.  I seriously need a jumpstart back to my routine.  I have made my way gradually to my clean diet.  I have my boiled eggs boiling at the moment and baking some turkey bacon.  I cannot find the drive to workout! I have been doing Beachbody's Turbofire, and P90x.  I'm thinking I need a new workout.  I have been eyeing two newer workouts. The Pink Method, and Les Mil Pump.  I saw the pink method on the Dr. Show, and it looked challenging. Alot of cardio, and I  am a cardio queen. And you cannot go wrong with me having pink in the title of anything! Les Mil Pump comes with weights and barbells, and 8 or 9 dvd's to workout to.  It looks interesting and different from the cardio driven workouts that I tend to go for.
Anywho, on to the next holiday right? Valentines day....Woooohooo. For a single Mummy that means, goodie baskets for my kiddos,  (red and brown jelly belly's, red and black stuffed animals free meal to Chick fila etc. etc...) Treat myself to a seafood dinner for five (The kids are coming with me i'm not going by myself!) Pretty pink roses to myself, red decorations heart shaped dolls  with cupcake decorations etc. etc.  For me it represents girly fixtures, and decorations, chocolates pink, pink, pink.....ha!

Yes. These are the images that come to mind.....well ladies enjoy your day on to errands, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, and changing pooper......poop #2.

Sincerely,
Miss Nik
